I have a 5 year old niece who LOVES to swing and jump on everything, hence my title, little monkey. My niece currently has a playground that is extremely unstable, and I am always beyond stressed whenever I see her climbing on top of the swings. When I came across this wooden swing set, I just imagined my little monkey finally able to climb freely and SAFELY. I, myself, am a climber, and when I saw the mini rock climbing portion, I just fell in love. There are so many different aspects to this awesome playground: ropes course, bouldering, slide, swings, and more! I'm almost 30 years old and 5'4", and I tried going on the playground myself, and let me tell you, this little playground brings out the child in you. I had a blast sliding down the slide, and swinging on the swings. Oh, and did I mention that you can adjust the swing by height, and so think of this as a long time investment, and full of memories! There are lots of outdoor swingsets in the market, but this one stood out given the flexibility it provided and the overall quality of construction. So let me start with the construction: Made with solid wood, very well varnished to prevent splinters and sharp edges, uses pretty heavy duty brackets for all joints; and nuts/bolts that are loosening resistant (this is really critical for things like swings); lastly - of course the entire product is weather resistant. Now to the key features: to help a kid with hand eye coordination (while building upper body strength), this thing comes with a rock climbing area and a rope climbing area. It has a steering wheel (this is one of the favorite things for my son in any playground as he loves the wheels on the bus song; and this wheel makes him feel like the driver); a telescope a large platform to just and play; swings that can change height (will talk more later); and push up hangers. The bottom of this set can be easily used a storage place or you could make it into a sand pit. This thing can hold like 9 kids each of like 150 pounds or so...so its built pretty solid! Overall has lots of great entertaining things for a kid. Should easily keep them busy for a few hours :) To talk a little more about the swings - the cool thing about these swings - you can change its height. i.e. as your kid gets older, you can make the swing higher so his/her feet/legs can hang out straight while sitting on the swing. This is really critical and was one of the features that really got me excited about this swing set. Lastly on maintaining and building this: the hard part on the set - assembling it. take your time, get it right, read the manual, and follow it. You will also need to re-varnish the wood after 2 yrs or so to help protect the quality and life of the product. I am writing this review as a part of a contest.

This is a very impressive backyard swing set! It’s perfect for you little ones as it comes with almost everything you can think of. It has a classic wooden look and is made from 100 percent. Here are some of the things that it comes with: 1) two swings with options to adjust the height, 2) swing bar also with option to adjust height (next to the swing), 3) wall for rock climbing with a rope to hold on to, 4) 8 feet slide, 5) rope ladder, and 6) step ladder to climb up. There is also a telescope and steering wheel at the top of the platform, so your child can play-pretend. The recommended weight limit is 150 lbs per child, so it will last for many years. Also, as an adult, I sat on the swing and it was able to hold my weight, so it is made quite well. My favorite portion of this swing set is the rock climbing wall! Reason is that I think it’s a bit of a more unique feature. The stepping “rocks” are brightly colored in green, red, yellow, and blue. The rope allows the child to hold on to while stepping on the rocks, so it helps them learn coordination and strength while climbing up with wall. It’s also at a good incline, not too steep. It takes about a day to fully assemble the set, so be sure to set some time aside before starting this project. Once it’s assembled, it will be worth it though! The assembled swing set is roughly 15 feet in length x 12 feet in width x 9 feet in height. Overall, this swing set is constructed very well and has many features that your child can have fun with. I bought Backyard Discovery’s Mt McKinley Wooden Swing Set for my home-based family daycare. This is one of the best investments I’ve ever made for my business! The children love to play on the swing set first thing in the morning as parents come to drop them. Similarly, at the end of the day, they’re so excited to play on the structure. In fact, they’d rather stay at daycare and play on the swing set than return home. What I love most about this swing set is that it inspires the children to develop motor skills, stay active, and spend quality time outdoors. I believe these are all essential activities for their development and well-being. Also, this swing set features something for every child. There’s a rock climbing wall, step ladder, rope ladder, telescope, steering wheel, belt swings and swing trapeze bars. I’m very pleased with this product and I give it my highest review! I have a baby girl who has just turned 1, and I can see her really liking this play set and growing up with it over the next couple of years. This play set is great because it has a few swings, which would allow her and her friends to be able to play on it together. The set seems very steady, so I have no concern from a safety's perspective. The set seems quite spacious too, so it looks to be able to accommodate up to 5-6 kids playing all at the same time comfortably. It's also great that the set has a roof cover on the top in case of rain, sun, or wind. I'd prefer that the set comes with one or two more slides. However, at the current price of $699, I find this to be a very good value because competing sites such as Coscto and Amazon would probably sell them for easily over $1000/set. This type of play set would easily last for over a decade in CA's weather, so this is a great investment especially since my kid is only 1. I am not sure if the setup will be time-consuming or difficult, but I'd assume that's standard across various play sets.
