I'm not sure about everyone else, but I bought my first Netgear router several months ago and began having issues with it within a month or two. To late to return it. After just dealing with it for awhile, I finally lost all patience when it would drop the internet and contacted Netgear. Let's just say that this has not been a pleasant experience to work within the warranty restrictions. I finally was sent a replacement router after having to send the old, defective one back to Netgear. After opening up the box of my refurbished router I found that I didn't receive a power cord. After calling Customer Support yet again I was told I would have to buy a new one myself because I wasn't supposed to send the old cord back with the other router. This wasn't told to me in any way. Supposedly I was to be told this on their website when setting up the return. If only their website had worked and had told me this information beforehand. Again, I don't know about anyone else, but I would not purchase a Netgear product if I were you. Just keeping everyone in the "know". Does anyone want to buy a refurbished router without a power cord?

Have been using an older Netgear wireless router that has served me well for years... until I moved. It isn't powerful enough now for the size/layout of my new place in addition to all the devices we have now. I researched a number of brands/models and decided to get this one even though it was definitely more than I wanted to spend. Well, bottom line is that it's worth every penny and then some. We're able to connect and stream flawlessly to a Samsung 55" Smart TV, an LG 65" Ultra 4K 3D Smart TV, a Samsung Blu-Ray player, 2 Samsung Galaxy tablets, 2 Moto X Republic Wireless cellphone and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. The best part for me is I'm streaming uncompressed 1080p vob movies to a Vid.On box from my computer at the opposite end of my house perfectly.

This router is awesome to have it has 2 - 5 Ghz and 1 - 2.4 Ghz Pathways. It handles all my traffic and more. It has 6 adjustable antennas. To see the lights on top flash make sure you flip the switch on the back so all the lights flash abd light up to see what is being used. When setting up this router be patient while going thru the step by step process it will sync up once its properly programmed by the software that comes with this router. Always make sure all wifi connections a setup with a password including the Guest connection on all 2.4 and 5 ghz or unwanted people will be using your bandwidth for free if not pass word protected. Always remember to change password to main login to router after setup. Always check for updates for this router under the advance admin settings after login to keep your system bug free. Happy Surfing.

Please ignore the bad review. Before setting up a new router, you must reset your cable modem. Personally I would power off the cable modem and the PC and router. Power on the cable modem then the router, then the PC and continue with the setup. Failing to do these steps will not allow you to connect to the internet. I hope this helps. And these instructions go for anytime you change the router.

OK this thing is a beast. Yup, its kinda big, and kinda looks like a robotic scorpion from the movie Runaway, but it rocks for wireless. Speed is phenomenal, reliability is great. I can get a full signal in my neighbors yard. Usb 3.0 port works well as a home network drive(I have a WD 6.0tb drive hooked up there. Only thing I would do differently, is to add a couple more hard wired CAT ports. I am using up 2 for additional NAS drives. a couple more would be useful, but not a deal breaker at all..I really dont use the 2.0 port, but might be useful for a slower archive drive, or backup bios or something. Regardless, overall - it rocks - Spend the extra couple bucks and buy this bad-boy, you wont regret it...
